Governance
Pico Water District is a county water district formed under the County Water District Law, set forth in Division 12 of the California Water Code.  The District is a public agency known as a special district, rather than a private company.  The District is governed by a board of five directors who are elected by the voters residing within the District’s service area.  Thus, the District’s directors are themselves District customers.  District directors serve four-year terms, with elections usually held in November of odd-numbered years.

The District’s Board of Directors meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the District’s office.  The District’s Board meetings are open to the public and members of the public are encouraged to attend the Board’s meetings.
